On location

There’s a lot of challenges shooting on location in an industrial environment, it’s hard on the gear and the many dangers can sometimes restrict movement but I really enjoy the problem solving. I try to speak to people to understand their job a little better and see what I think will make a picture. It’s […]

Guide Dogs Calendar

I was really chuffed to be asked to create the imagery for the 2012 Guide Dogs Queensland Calendar. They do amazing work, the dogs are incredibly intelligent and super cute – I was up for the challenge. Thanks to the dedicated and skilled staff at GDQ – it was a really fun and rewarding project. Floral festivities

Here are a few images from a recent assignment for advertising agency DMS Creative. They asked me to create a suite of images from the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers. There was a lot to photograph, it’s a pretty awesome event. The work that goes into the carnival and to the gardens is mind boggling!

EKKA revisited

It was great to be asked back to cover the EKKA again this year. When I turned up for the first day of shooting I was confronted with some massive images I shot last year covering the fencing around the RNA Showgrounds renovations. Great to see such a big run!

Boxing Wallaby

Wallabies playmaker Quade Cooper photographed for the Sydney Morning Herald. I wanted to get something different, a quiet moment with a hint of the location. A busy boxing gym can be tricky especially with a low ceiling and fluros but I used a simple two light setup to give the image some mood. Quade was […]

ThinkRink

I was asked to create a time lapse of  something quite cool recently. A group of creative people participated in a workshop to use Design Thinking to address some of the problems facing the homeless and disadvantaged. The design challenge was focused around new products, services, strategies, programs and projects for the 139 Club, a […]

Very exciting project! We were asked to produce the images for the 2011 Concert Season Calendar of the Queensland Conservatorium. The brief was to express the feeling of music through our photography and with the help of many amazingly talented students we created the images below.  The creative freedom we were given was awesome and […]

Stop motion promotion

We thought stop motion was the best way to show off one of our promo packages and tell a story which is what we always try to do with our pictures. It took some time to shoot and an amazing amount of patience to move the elements in the frame a few millimeters and shoot […]

Entica, a Brisbane based design studio, invited us recently to join them for the day and we had a ball photographing this very creative and visually stimulating environment climbing […]

city living

Another great shoot! This time for The Apple, a boutique residential apartment building to be built in Brisbane CBD. Our aim was to illustrate a day in the life of a young lady living there and the lifestyle that comes with it! The fast paced day went remarkably well, with pit stops for make-up and […]

crow-magnon

I was invited by one of the competing teams at the Green House Design Challenge at the State Library to photograph their project in progress: Crow-Magnon! If you put a bunch of incredibly creative people, some recycled materials and more power tools than the local multinational hardware store in the one room you end up […]

We’re approached quite often to assist with the creation of personalised stock photography or image libraries for our clients. They want to have on hand a referenced library of photography relevant to their business in a consistent style. Recently one such request came from the Western Downs Regional Council in central Queensland – there are […]

slippery fish

Shooting a chef with a slippery fish on the even more slippery rocks  on the edge of a river sounds like a recipe for disaster. It very well could have been but it was all worth it for a picture. Perry Hill (great chef at The Point Restaurant in Ballina and all round nice bloke) […]

coffee break

There were two parts to this assignment- photographing details of beautifully designed and crafted Italian coffee machines and creating a series of scenes centered around the coffee experience. The long history of the company was important so a black and white approach was chosen with quality and refinement also being key themes. It would have […]
